Central Java (Indonesian: Provinsi Jawa Tengah) is a province of Indonesia. The administrative capital is Semarang. It is one of six provinces on the island of Java. The province of Central Java is 32,548.20 km2 in area; approximately a quarter of the total land area of Java. Its population is 32,864,000 (As of 2009[update]), making it the third most-populous province in Indonesia after West Java and East Java, and constituting a bit less than one quarter of the crowded island's population.

Semarang City

Semarang (pronounced [səmaraŋ]) is a city on the north coast of the island of Java, Indonesia. It is the capital of the province of Central Java. It has an area of 225.17 km² and a population of approximately 1.5 million people, making it Indonesia's fifth largest city. Semarang is located at 6°58′S 110°25′E / 6.967°S 110.417°E / -6.967; 110.417. Semawis Market

Semawis Market, also known as Waroeng Semawis, is a night market in Chinatown in Semarang City. This market was originally the brainchild of the association Coffee Semawis (Semarang's Chinatown Community for Tourism).
Semawis Market began with the holding of the Lunar Semawis Market in 2004, following the opening of the Lunar New Year as the National Public Holidays in Indonesia.
